The Grand Finale

  1. Science is an ongoing endeavor. Theories are always being tested. We can never definitively prove them right. What is a correct model of science today may be wrong tomorrow. So we didn't wrap things up in a neat little package, but instead ask you to continue your exploration. So brainstorm new experiment ideas and post them to the wiki. You may rework one of your experiments, but you should try to come up with some new interesting investigations too. Think... "If we had more time we would...."
  2. You need to write your final or summarizing blog entry. Our motivation for the course was learning through inquiry and using cyberinfrastructure as a collaborative research tool. We want to know your thoughts. Lightbulb moments or moments where you had an epiphany or moments where you were challenged are appropriate here as well as any other insights that come to mind. You may keep your entry brief (>500 words).
  3. Ok, so you've designed your experiment, collected your data, refined your experiment, collected more data, and collected more data. Its now time to do your analysis. Using the data (from all of your work) present your findings. Be sure to put things up on the wiki in a readable format as well as make links to other material where appropriate.

All work must be posted by Sunday evening. Please notify me by email when you are finished.

Since the science community is a collaborative one, we hope you will continue to use your wiki account for all of your future science endeavors. As always, Cosmic Chris is willing to lend a hand if you need it.

Please note: We will be keeping your WIKI accounts active and would be very pleased if continued to use these pages for your future scientific endeavors at Stony Brook University and beyond.

Thank you for a great session and have a wonderful summer.
