Welcome to my World
Hi, I am Cosmic Chris, and welcome to my world. I am a senior at Hauppauge High School and have been learning all about cosmic rays in the last 4 years or so. I have learned how to detect cosmic rays and count them. Because of that, I've been to different places to show people how many cosmic rays shower on us every minute.

Kosmikophobia
Some people, believe it or not, have fear of Cosmic Phenomena... we call this Kosmikophobia.
Kosmikophobia is the fear of cosmic phenomena. This phobia is purely a unconcious fear generated out a protective characteristic in the mind. It is widely found that the cause can be linked to a traumatic emotional experience which involved a cosmic event in some way. More mild cases are caused by media sources such as movie, books or television. Symptoms include: shortness of breath or rapid breathing, dry mouth, palpitations(irregular heartbeat), sweating, nausea, sense of helplessness or emotial paralysis, crying, a desire to escape or run away, and extreme feeling of dread due to the thought of cosmic activity. This fear severely effects the quality of life for its victims.
Kosmikophobia is just like any other phobia, in that it is manifested from the desire to avoid danger or pain. The mind will be called upon to attach a sense of fear to a specific item as a trigger or warning of the potential danger. While it may seem to be a natural reaction to such an event, it has become overly pronounced among many. This is when the condition becomes a disorder. There is treatment for the condition readily available.
