Cummulative Events per Hour

From MariachiWiki

This tutorial is designed to give you scant instructions on how to compile all the "events per hour per week_[x].xls" files into a cummulative file. This compilation is very similar to the compilation done to create the weekly files. It is assumed that you now know how do all the steps listed in other tutorials. If you do not remember them, feel free to refer back to the other tutorials.

1. Open a new Excel file and save it as "events per hour.xls".

2. Title - Label A1 "hour".

3. Open - Open all "events per hour per week_[x].xls" files.

4. Copy & paste - Select and copy all data cells in column A from each file and paste them into column A in the new file.

You can now close the other files.

5. Sort - Select column A and sort the data via the Data menu.

6. Bins - Create bins in column B starting with "0" and going in increments of 1 up to 23.

7. Histogram - Create a histogram of the data via the Data Analysis under the Tools menu.

8. Customize - Enlarge the graph, delete the legend, adjust the fonts and scales on the axes, display the data label values, and decrease the gap width just like on all the other files.

9. Titles - Title the graph "Cummulative Events per hour for [x] weeks" and label the x-axis "hour".

10. T-test - In D27 type "ttest". In E27, use the =ttest( function to do a 2 tail, type 1 ttest on the frequency column, splitting the data, in 2 arrays of 12 rows.
