Members of Riverhead's newly formed research class visited the The MARIACHI Teaching Lab on November, 20th. This all began after I (Dan Hafner)had spoken with Bob Jester and his research class describing my involvement with cosmic rays stemming from my Cosmic Rays Research class. Their immdeiate interest and eagerness to get involved in this still growing experiment prompted me to make arrangements for the visit, which was made possible though the efforts of Professor Marx and his staff. During the visit the students were exposed to a variety of information imbedded with demonstrations involving the equipment used and the theories behind cosmic rays. Although we received an array of information according to our students the four hour stay was far to short and we are in the process of scheduling another visit.

Professor Marx has agreed to accept letters of intent from the Riverhead students who wish to actively participate in the Mariachi experiment and pursue a research based project involving cosmic ray detection, with the help of Professor Marx and staff.
