MARIACHI goes South
MARIACHI goes south for a summer workshop. Hosted by Prof Mauro Kyotoku from the Universidade Federal da Paraiba, the workshop was a gathering of physics teachers from the state of Paraiba. The workshop consisted of hands on experiments and the construction of one SPIDA-2 antenna for the detection of meteors. The first experiment that we carried out was the flashing led that was implemented by the MARIACHIs. The second activity was to study in depth the pop corn experiment. With help from Prof. Fernando Marroquim from Rio de Janeiro, a SPIDA-2 antenna developed by Bob Warasila from SCCC was erected and tested for meteor detection. Lectures were also given on MARIACHI experiment and DRACON, the experiment being built at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
Some of the experiments were translated into Portuguese and can be found on this web site.
