Angora
Turkish restaurant located very close to Exit 64 on LIE. It is open 7:00AM till midnight daily. This is a very simple restaurant, deli style but the food is excellent. From soups to kebabs this restaurant prepares everything inhouse include the bread they serve. The Doner Kebab (chicken or lamb) is very good. Also excelent are the kebabs - chicken, lamb, or Adana kebab. I also like Lahmancun which looks like a pizza. Sprinkle lemon juice on top, roll it up and eat it. To drink, there is a large variety of soda, and yogurt. It is worth a trip there and prices as good. A typical meal goes for under $10. Deserts are great, but it will depend on your taste. Black tea is free but you'll have to dilute it a little. About 15 minutes from the lab. (Entered by Helio)
Benten
Japanese restaurant in Mt Sinai. It is one of the best Japanese restaurants in the area. Service is good and sushi one of the best. Ken, the sushi-man, is very good in preparing sushi. Cooked dishes are great as well. Watch for specials that are posted on three boards in the dining room. Ken will also prepare other food that are not in the menu, just ask him for anything special. I like the sauteed Oysters appetizer, and Hijiki. Special appetizers are always available. As for the main course sushi is a good way to go, rolls, udon, ton-katsu, and others. If you are hungry the Bento box is a good option. It is located about 25 minutes from BNL.
Mexican Grill
It is a tiny Mexican restaurant located on RT 112. It has very good Mexican food, including Tex-Mex style cusine such as burritos, etc. I like tacos there: carnitas, chorizo, carne asada. When going there the menu is on a large painted board. How can you go wrong? You must like Cumbia as it is the favorite music played there. If you like Cumbia, buy CDs there. Typically prices are cheap ($10-$15).
Phils
Phils is a sport bar in Wading River. It is a great hang out and many BNL people go there for a drink, or hamburgers. For dinner there are daily specials that you might want to take a look.
