About me: Physics major at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University located in Tallahassee, Florida 32307.

My story: I was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, but I reside in Tallahassee, Florida. High school for me was a bit useful; I learned how to develop the creative side of me that was asleep. I always had the ‘why’ questions and a thirst for creating. My goal in life has always been to walk the walk and talk the talk; I want to be the first of my kind (meaning the first person from Florida to have a major influence with improving the many fun features of living). Prior and during college I worked many of jobs. The one job I am most proud of was working for the United States Postal Service for five years (two years in Daytona Beach, Florida and three years in Tallahassee, Florida). The postal service taught me how to be more conscience about how I worked.

The real world summer experience: My 2006 summer was spent interning at Brookhaven National Laboratory. On the MARIACHI project I worked on a numerical model of the critical charge density surface of ultra high- energy cosmic ray induced extensive air showers using a SCILAB language that calculates the density of ionization electrons as a function of radial distance from the shower axis and location along the axis. The word MARIACHI is an acronym for mixed apparatus for radar investigation of cosmic rays of high ionization. The unique thing about this internship was that it was my very first opportunity to work with a senior physicist and my physics instructor from Florida A& M University. As the senior physicist (and mentor) on the Mariachi project, Dr. Helio Takai was a thrill to learn from. His teaching methods seemed to go beyond the workplace. My physics instructor, Dr. Ray H. ONeal Jr. was quite interesting to work with. He was extremely thought provoking. He showed me how to approach a challenging problem. I am very grateful to have experienced the teaching combination taught by Dr. Helio Takai, and Dr. Ray H. O’Neal Jr. One of the things I enjoyed the most about working at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) was the great diversity of scientist, professors, and students that worked together. I shall take this work experience with me where ever I go.

One of my near goals: as an entrepreneur, and patent owner my plans are to successfully use the skills and research tactics learned at BNL to set and execute goals that will introduce my products to the marketplace.
