Carlos Gamboa obtained his BS in Electrical Engineering at the Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia. There he worked implementing energy models for the Colombian energy system. Presently, he is a PhD graduate student of the Electrical and Computing engineering department at Stony Brook University. As a graduate student he has researched and published in the area of parallel processing and computer networks. Most of his job is related with mathematical modeling (scheduling protocols) for data distribution in computer networks.

He is working as an intern in the MARIACHI project as part of the GRID group at BNL.

He loves to spend time with his family and to watch films from directors like Fassbinder, Fellini, Antonioni, Lynch among others.
