Joe Sinacore has been teaching physics at Newfield High School since 2002. He currently teaches 3 sections of Honors Physics and one section of AP Physics C.

In 2007, Joe was accepted into the Academies Creating Teacher Scientists (ACTS) Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. Joe began working with Helio during that summer at BNL, where he familiarized himself with MARIACHI and its goals. Joe hopes to have scintillation detectors installed at Newfield High School so that he and his students may get involved with the project. In addition, Joe wrote a paper describing an experiment that uses a flashing LED to measure g. It will be published in an upcoming issue of The Physics Teacher.

Joe and wife, Alison, recently celebrated the birth of their son, Jake.
