Russ DiGrigoli is a student at Northport High School who has just completed his Junior year. (Thank goodness!) His senior year is filled with AP and Honors level math and science courses; a nice transition from the previous two years of AP History and AP English. Taking an AP course in a subject you are not strong in is not always the best decision.

Although Russ is leaning towards Physics as a major, business is also a choice. (Always have to take into consideration your salary in today's day and age.) He has always been interested in Astronomy based topics, he was the only one in his second grade class who could name all the planets (at that time nine), in order, in about seven seconds.

Aside from, hopefully, doing something with Astronomy, Russ also hopes to become a writer. (As a sub-level deal.) He has already written a 250-page noveland is about half-way through his second. Each are part of a five part series.

In his spare time, Russ enjoys snowboarding and playing tennis. Snowboarding in the winter and tennis all year-round takes up a good amount of time and are two sports that keep one at tip-top physical condition. He is now looking into purchasing a Freeboard, which is "snowboarding on pavement." Then he would be able to snowboard all year-round.

This summer Russ is participating in the MARIACHI program through Stonybrook with his Physics and Astronomy teacher, Ms. Waszmer, a fellow reasearch teach, Mr. Horan, and his fellow student, Mike Ross. Russ is extremly interested in learning about cosmic rays and hopes to discover and learn new things.
